Open 12-3 Thurs to Sun. Viewings by appointment.

Finally… we have some positive news! We are able to start rehoming animals again from 12th April 2021. Viewings will be strictly by appointment only, and arrangements need to be made via Email admin@animals-in-need.org Please do bear with us as we anticipate we will be exceptionally busy for the first few weeks, but your Email will be directed to the appropriate team member who will respond as soon as they are able. Applications will not be on a first-come first-served basis as we are looking for the right homes for the animals in our care but if you are not a good match hopefully we can point you in the right direction.

Please note the sanctuary will have reduced visiting times – we will be open 12 – 3 pm Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. If you wish to view any animal you are interested in rehoming though, you must have a pre-arranged appointment.

We will be re-opening our Vegan Cafe on 17th April, you are welcome to come and visit at weekends and support us that way, outdoor seating is available to comply with social distancing. And our shop in Lea Road will be open on 12th April – the ladies have been working hard getting everything ready.

We look forward to seeing you soon. Thank you so much for supporting us through the last 12 months, it has been a difficult time for all and we are so grateful that people have taken the time to continue to donate food, bedding and funds, we couldn’t have kept our gates open if it wasn’t for you.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION – Rehoming a dog is a carefully handled process – we need to make sure we find the right owner for the dog and the right dog for your home and lifestyle. We ask that you view the dogs here on the website to see which dogs are currently available. Based on the dogs you want to view, we ask a few questions to make sure your selected dogs would be suitable, and if so an appointment will be arranged. Please note you will need to provide picture ID and proof of address. If all is well when you meet, then you can reserve a dog for £50 deposit. If several people want the same dog then our kennel management team will decide based on the dogs needs, who is best suited to care for them. In the event we are inundated with offers for the same dog, you may just be notified that we are no longer accepting applications. All dogs leave us neutered, vaccinated, ID chipped , wormed and flea treated. A minimum donation of £200 per dog to help cover costs is required. Everyone wanting to rescue a dog will need to receive a full home check and must also have a secure garden with minimum 6′ fencing. Any other dogs in the home will have to be neutered. PLEASE NOTE – we cannot rehome dogs to families with children under the age of 5.
