This group of animals are now permanent residents at Animals In Need for various reasons. They love visitors so why not pop in and meet them. If any one of them are really special to you, why not talk to a member of staff about sponsoring them?
18 year old Robbie, 10 year old Wesley & Chester, who is 8, are cheeky best friends.
Gertrude & Freda are the senior members of our tortoise colony, they have been joined by the youngsters Alan & Alice.
Sherman is a 21 year old Sulcata tortoise, and joined us at the request of his family as he needed more space to roam.
We have 4 goats – Emma & Dinky Donkey were saved from slaughter, whilst the Pygmys Ronnie & Reggie lived with a loving family who unfortunately could no longer keep them.
We currently have 43 sheep in our care, all rescued from various situations. They range in age from 6 months to 16 years old, and each has their own name.
Big Pete lives with his daughters Penny & Petal. They are a small breed of pigs called Juliana. They were rescued from slaughter along with several family members.
Hatton is a handsome 7 yr old AMB. He loves the kennel ladies but is wary of strangers. His favourite thing to do is chase tennis balls, and he is able to carry 3 in his mouth at a time!!
Galvados the Alpaca is 17 years old, and hates his own kind! He previously lived on a goat smallholding, and has now made friends with our flock of sheep. He will live out his twilight years with us.
Our Donkeys, William & Patches, were rescued from a terrible situation where they had been dreadfully neglected. They have come on in leaps and bounds, but are still quite shy around strangers. They love ginger biscuits as a treat. They are 11 years old.
5 year old Domino & Scooby, who is a 6 year old Exmoor Pony, came to us from separate families who could no longer keep them.
5 year old Peanuts is a huge cuddly Gloucester Old Spot cross. His favourite foods are melons and jam donuts!!
Emma is our cheekiest goat – she tends to hang around with the sheep!! Her favourite thing to do is butt people, but she loves scritches too. Her favourite foods are grass nuts, hay and Rich Tea biscuits.
Turkeys Ambrose, Violet, Sophie & Florence live with their friends Russell Crow & Colin. They make their way into Annie & Maeve’s caravan at every opportunity!!
We have 9 very beautiful Wiltshire Pigs – Sparky, Percy, Pip, Patch, Nelson, Merlin, Tamsin, Guinevere & Arya. They will be 7 years old in November, rescued as piglets and much loved by their family, who sadly had to move and could not find somewhere they could keep them. They are settling in well, and respond to their names. They love rooting for grubs, nuts and berries. Their favourite treats are melons and pineapple. And they just never get bored of tummy rubs!
